The Making Of The Outdoor Collection
We recently unveiled our very first outdoor edit. The uber-chic collection was designed to go hand-in-hand with sunsets on the patio and sunny days by the pool. From day beds to coffee tables and stools, it contained everything needed to enjoy al fresco living this summer. This week, we’re taking a closer look at what went into the creation process.
At Frato, we use time-honoured techniques, followed by local expert craftsmen, to make every single piece we design. This allows us to ensure quality and personality in each item. Here’s how that happens…
Step one…
We source the base material. This is usually high-quality wood that is sourced sustainably. We receive this in its natural state before it is reimagined into the final piece.
Step two…
Our expert craftsmen cut the wood into the pieces needed to make up the final design.
Step three…
The wood is then treated to make sure it stands the test of time, painted and varnished.
Step four…
Next, our skilled upholsters cut the fabrics for the finished article.
Step five…
Each piece is carefully sewn together to fit perfectly onto the finished item, be it a sofa, armchair or stool.
Step six…
Any cushions are filled with foam and given the bounce factor for maximum comfort.
Step seven…
Each article is fitted together, by hand, to create the final piece, ready for you to enjoy.
